The British newspaper The Sun had a look into pre-Black Friday madness: The huge Amazon Fulfillment Centre in Peterborough (UK) is 550,000 square feet where staff rush to fulfil Black Friday sales as 86 orders are placed every SECOND. The US-online retailer has recruited thousands of new staff to meet demand.
Over 1,000 workers are selecting and packaging products ahead of Black Friday. According to The Sun, Amazon sold more than 7.4 million items on Black Friday last year. This year they have recruited an extra 20,000 seasonal workers and 3,500 permanent staff members in a bid to keep up with demand this years run for Black Friday offers.
